Khuzestan

Khuzestan is ont of the provinces of Iran located in southwest of the country, bordering Iraq and the Persian Gulf. Its large and permanent rivers flow over the entire territory contributing to the fertility of the land which has made this province ideal for agricultural and animal husbandry. Also its undreground is holding big resources of oil and gas. However, due to climate change problems like haze, unhealthy drinking water, extreme weather temperature and also unemployement, addiction and poverty, this province has the highest rate of migration leaving for other provinces. More than half of poplulatin of this province is consisted of Iranians Arabs. This province was the main front during the 8-year-war between Iran and Iraq. Khoramshahr was captured more than a year by Iraqi army and other cities like Abadan, Susangerd, Hamidiye were surrounded and close to fall. Khuzestan suffered and still suffers the heaviest damages of all Iranian provinces during this war. the suffers that can be seen still on the walls of houses and for sure on the minds of its people.
